This compostable mailer is a total game-changer — home compostable, carbon negative, strong, waterproof, reusable, and non-toxic. It’s everything you didn’t know you needed in a ‘plastic’ bag! Let’s talk about how to get the most out of it before you toss it.
Step 1: Prep the Mailer for Composting
First, make sure to remove anything that isn’t compostable. That includes any labels, sticky tape, and the plastic backing from the adhesive strips (at this stage it will only be the mailing label!). Once it’s stripped of all non-compostable elements, it’s ready for its next step!
Step 2: Toss It in Your Compost Bin
If you have a home compost bin, you’re all set! Just toss the mailer in, and in about six months, it’ll break down naturally.
Step 3: No Compost Bin? No Problem!
If you don’t have a compost bin at home, don’t worry. You can take the mailer to a local composting facility. Many areas also have food waste collection programs, and in some cases, you can add compostable items like this mailer to your food waste bin.
Step 4: Whatever You Do, Don’t Recycle It
It might be tempting, but please don’t throw the mailer in your recycling bin. Compostable items don’t belong in the recycling stream, and they’ll just cause problems if they end up there.
Other Ways to Reuse Your Compostable Mailer
Before you say goodbye to your mailer, why not get a little extra use out of it? You’ve got a few options!
- Need to return something? The mailer’s got you covered! Use that second adhesive strip and send it back to the seller with ease.
- Sending something new? Flip the mailer inside out, and voilà—you’ve got a fresh, reusable package ready to go!
- Got a green thumb? Cut up the mailer and use it as weed matting in your garden, or even to help grow seedlings. Since it’s non-toxic, it’s totally safe for your plants.
- Dealing with green waste? Use the mailer to carry or store your green waste before you compost it.
So before you toss it, see how many ways you can give your mailer a second (or third) life!
But wait, what about the other packaging?
- The stickers (including hygiene liner!): These are home compostable, so you can either add them to your compost pile or throw them in the regular trash—they’ll break down naturally either way. (The mailing label is not compostable)
- The paper cards: These are seeded with wildflowers! Plant them in some soil, and soon you’ll have beautiful blooms. Even better, these wildflowers are essential for our declining bee populations, so by planting more, you’re giving our buzzing friends a helping hand and doing your part to help the planet.
Taking care of the environment has never been this easy—or this rewarding!

Step 1: The Rescue Mission
It all starts with an important mission! Ocean-bound waste, such as abandoned fishing nets, fabric scraps, and plastic bottles, are rescued before they can harm our oceans. Initiatives like Healthy Seas play a key role in collecting discarded fishing nets. Once this waste is gathered, it is sorted and cleaned to recover every usable bit of nylon and plastic. 🌊♻️
Step 2: The Regeneration Magic
Now the real magic begins! The collected nylon and plastic waste undergo a specialised purification process, transforming them back into their original, pristine forms. This process restores the materials as pure as if they were freshly made—only now, they’re helping the planet instead of harming it!
Step 3: The Transformation 🌱
Next, these purified materials are given new life! The nylon is spun into soft yarns and polymers, while the plastic is transformed into high-quality fibres. These regenerated materials are now ready to be crafted into beautiful, sustainable swimwear.
Step 4: Your Gorg New Salt & Skye Swimsuit is Born!
Finally, these regenerated materials are crafted into your new favourite swimsuit! Not only are they high-quality and luxuriously soft, but the nylon can be recycled indefinitely, and the fibres are designed for long-lasting durability and comfort. By choosing swimwear made from these materials, you're supporting a sustainable cycle that keeps on giving!

Our oceans are in crisis. Coral reefs are dying, plastic pollution is choking marine life, and overfishing threatens the balance of entire ecosystems. But there is hope—because you can make a real difference, starting today.
The simplest and most impactful step you can take is to educate yourself. Your daily actions—like reducing plastic use, being mindful of your consumption, and choosing sustainable food—can have a profound impact on ocean health. Avoid supporting companies that harm marine ecosystems with practices like trawling or using ghost nets, and make sure the seafood you eat isn’t contributing to overfishing or endangering species.
Want to do more? Supporting organisations like Coral Guardian and Coral Gardeners, who plant new corals, is a fantastic way to help restore critical ecosystems. Only One is another powerful initiative—by subscribing, you're not only removing plastic from the ocean but also planting mangrove trees that protect coastlines and absorb carbon. Our founder uses Only One and can vouch for its impact.
If you want to get directly involved, our founder has also volunteered with the Indo Ocean Project and TRACC in Borneo. These programs are doing amazing work in coral planting, ocean research, and turtle conservation, helping to rebuild what’s been lost.
Remember, every action counts. Whether it’s reducing your plastic use, adopting a turtle, or volunteering with ocean conservation programs, you have the power to protect and restore our oceans for future generations. Together, we can ensure that our oceans thrive once more.
